How to get a student visa

Here are the steps to get a student visa

  2. Get admitted
  3. Pay your deposit (most schools require a deposit)
  4. Receive your I-20
  5. Schedule your visa interview
  6. Interview
  7. Get your student visa

Can I bring family with me to the US?

A student visa is officially known as an F-1 visa. A student can bring his/her dependents with them on an F-2 visa. The dependents would be a spouse or children, and they would need to be issued a visa.

How soon can you get a student visa?

The wait time for a student-visa interview will vary based on the US Embassy where you want to interview. It may be in your best interest to travel to a US Embassy with a shorter wait time if you don’t have a lot of time.
